Welcome to my blog. It's a random collection of what I've been up to and things that I'm interested in.
I come from Yorkshire, but after moving around the UK a little for university and jobs, I am currently settled in London and it seems that my accent has all but disappeared. I love living here because there is always something happening or something new to discover.
In the last few years, I've rediscovered my love of Cross Stitch and you'll see posts about completed pieces scattered around the blog (or search for x-stitch labels). I also went through a phase of card making and occasionally, I'll pull 2 massive boxes out of the cupboard and spread them all over the lounge and have a big old cardmaking session. But I don't get to do that very often.
Other things that I enjoy are music and street/graffiti/stencil art. I don't create either myself, but love to look at what other people are doing. I have a particular fondness for pieces by Eelus, Jimi Crayon, C215, ROA and Logan Hicks because I could just look at their work for hours and never get bored of it. Music wise, I grew up on cheese and pop music, but now I'm finding that I like something slightly more rocky/alt. My favourites are Green Day, Madina Lake, The Maine, Plain White T's and Take Cover.
Jobwise, I'm in between at the moment. I was made redundant in the summer and took a little time off to finish some stitching projects that I had on the go, learn a couple of new techniques and just to concentrate on my hobby to improve my skill level. In my regular working life, I am a relational database designer, working with standards and guidelines to produce logical and physical database models.
That's most of what you need to know about me. I'm a pretty nice person with a lot of time for others, although I have the occasional feisty streak, usually when tired or hungry (or sometimes when I've had too many alcopops...jk, I drink bourbon). So be nice to me, keep me well fed and I'll be happy and fabulous and lovely and all smiles.
Thank you for reading my blog, I'm still pretty stoked that anyone actually does. And if you enjoy it, please subscribe and feel free to leave comments...I like getting to know people!
